About the Role
Pets at Home Retail is looking for a Deputy Store Manager Designate for the Trowbridge, Chippenham and Bath area. This 39-hour contract role offers the opportunity to help lead a community-focused Pet Care Centre, supporting local pet owners and their pets. You’ll work closely with the store management team to support day-to-day operations, customer service and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager with the smooth day-to-day running of the store.
- Help lead, motivate and support colleagues to deliver welcoming, helpful customer service.
- Assist customers with their pet care shopping needs, seeking specialist guidance where appropriate.
- Help maintain store presentation, product availability and merchandising standards.
- Support store performance while keeping customer needs and responsible pet care at the heart of decisions.
- Help ensure colleagues follow store procedures and health and safety standards.
What You'll Need
- Experience supervising or supporting a team in retail or a similar customer-facing environment.
- A genuine interest in pets and in helping their owners make informed choices.
- Clear communication skills and a supportive approach to working with colleagues.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a busy store.
- A practical, customer-focused approach to solving problems.
- Flexibility to work within the Trowbridge, Chippenham and Bath area as part of a designate role.
