About the Role
Ramsay Health Care is seeking a Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to join North Downs Hospital in Caterham, Surrey. The hospital has an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality healthcare, with 15 en-suite bedrooms and a daycase suite. In this ward leadership role, you will help maintain safe, patient-centred care while supporting the nursing team to deliver high standards of clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the nursing team in the day-to-day running of the ward.
- Oversee the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of individualised patient care.
- Coordinate ward activity and staffing priorities to support safe, effective care.
- Work closely with the wider clinical team to support clear communication and continuity of care.
- Maintain high standards of clinical documentation, infection prevention and patient safety.
- Support colleagues’ development and contribute to improvements in ward practice.
What You'll Need
- Registered nurse status with current NMC registration.
- Relevant ward-based nursing experience and the ability to lead a clinical team.
- Sound clinical judgement and a strong commitment to patient safety.
- Effective communication, organisational and delegation skills.
- A compassionate, patient-centred approach to nursing care.
- Knowledge of professional standards, clinical governance and infection prevention.
