About the Role
Outcomes First Group is seeking a Vehicle Mechanics Instructor to join Wetheringsett Manor in Suffolk, IP14 5QX, in the Stowmarket area. You will help learners develop practical vehicle mechanics skills and understanding through engaging, safety-focused teaching. This permanent, term-time-only role is due to start in October 2026 and offers a working pattern designed to support work–life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging vehicle mechanics lessons and practical activities.
- Demonstrate mechanical techniques and the safe use of tools and equipment.
- Adapt teaching and instruction to suit learners’ differing needs and abilities.
- Assess learners’ progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
- Maintain a safe, organised learning environment and promote responsible workshop practice.
- Work with colleagues to support learners’ participation and achievement.
What You'll Need
- Practical knowledge of vehicle mechanics and relevant industry skills.
- The ability to explain technical concepts clearly and demonstrate practical tasks.
- A patient, adaptable approach to supporting learners with different needs.
- A strong understanding of workshop safety and safe working practices.
- Relevant experience or qualifications to support your suitability for an instructor or teaching role.
- To be a UK applicant with the right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available.
What's on Offer
- Salary of up to £42,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications, not pro rata.
- A permanent, term-time-only contract.
- 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.15am to 3.45pm.
