About the Role
Ramsay Health Care is seeking a registered Theatre Scrub Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with an interest in ophthalmology for a full-time role. Although the listing location is Buckingham, the role is based at The Cherwell Hospital in Banbury, Oxfordshire. You will support the ophthalmology suite as part of an exciting new service, gaining experience alongside experienced clinicians. Orthopaedic experience, or a willingness to learn this speciality, would also be welcome.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide scrub support for ophthalmic procedures as part of the theatre team.
- Prepare instruments, equipment and the theatre environment for surgical procedures.
- Work closely with clinicians and colleagues to deliver safe, patient-centred care.
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention, aseptic practice and patient safety.
- Complete accurate clinical documentation and contribute to effective theatre communication.
- Support orthopaedic theatre activity where appropriate to your skills and training.
What You'll Need
- Registered practitioner status as a nurse or Operating Department Practitioner, with appropriate professional registration.
- An interest in ophthalmology and a commitment to developing your specialist skills.
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary theatre team.
- A sound understanding of safe theatre practice and infection prevention.
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused approach.
- Ideally, orthopaedic experience, or a willingness to learn this speciality.
