About the Role
McGregor Boyall Associates Limited is recruiting a Software Development Coach for a 12-month contract in Scotland, with possible extensions. Working mostly remotely, with occasional travel to Edinburgh or Glasgow, you will help strengthen software development capability across a cross-functional engineering environment. You will support multiple product and enablement teams to improve delivery and reduce technical and operational risk through practical coaching and technical guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach software development teams to strengthen their engineering skills and working practices.
- Provide practical technical guidance across product and enablement teams.
- Help teams identify and address obstacles to effective software delivery.
- Support the adoption of secure and resilient software development practices.
- Work collaboratively to identify and reduce technical and operational risks.
- Encourage knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across teams.
What You'll Need
- A strong background in software development and hands-on technical guidance.
- Experience coaching or mentoring engineers to improve capability and delivery.
- An understanding of secure, resilient software development practices.
- The ability to identify engineering risks and help teams address them pragmatically.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams.
- Availability for occasional travel to Edinburgh or Glasgow.
