About the Role
Hays is recruiting a Shift Maintenance Engineer for a permanent role in Whitby, North Yorkshire, paying £45,000. You will join a long-established, privately owned food manufacturing business with a strong reputation for quality, innovation and customer service. Working within a large production facility, you will help keep manufacturing equipment running safely and reliably as part of the shift maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment and associated machinery.
- Investigate equipment faults and complete repairs to minimise production downtime.
- Work closely with production colleagues to prioritise maintenance requirements during your shift.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, faults and repairs.
- Follow site health and safety, food hygiene and maintenance procedures.
What You'll Need
- Relevant engineering qualifications or practical maintenance engineering experience.
- Experience maintaining machinery in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally within food manufacturing.
- Strong fault-finding skills and a practical approach to resolving equipment issues.
- An understanding of safe working practices and the importance of hygiene in food production.
- The ability to work effectively with engineering and production colleagues.
- Willingness to work shifts and respond to changing maintenance priorities.
