Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients on the surgical ward.
- Assess patients’ needs, plan care and evaluate progress throughout their recovery.
- Monitor patients following surgery, recognising and escalating changes in their condition.
- Work closely with the wider clinical team to support safe, coordinated patient care.
- Provide guidance and support to nursing colleagues, promoting high standards of clinical practice.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and follow professional standards and patient safety procedures.
What You'll Need
- Current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration.
- Post-surgical nursing experience and the ability to support patients through recovery.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and a commitment to safe, patient-centred care.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- The confidence to support colleagues in a senior nursing role.
- High Dependency Unit (HDU) skills would be an advantage, but are not essential.
