About the Role
Join BAE Systems as a Senior Mission System Architect, focusing on Command & Control (C2) and infrastructure. This permanent role offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise to mission system architecture within a global organisation. Location options include Portsmouth (Broad Oak), Filton and Dorchester, with hybrid working requiring three days on site and routine travel to other southern BAE Systems sites in the UK, plus occasional international travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and shape mission system architectures covering C2 capabilities and supporting infrastructure.
- Translate operational and technical requirements into coherent architectural designs.
- Assess design options, considering system integration, performance and technical risk.
- Work with engineering teams and stakeholders to align architectural decisions with system requirements.
- Produce and review technical documentation to communicate design decisions and support delivery.
What You'll Need
- Relevant experience in systems architecture or senior systems engineering.
- Knowledge of Command & Control systems and the infrastructure that supports them.
- The ability to analyse complex requirements and evaluate technical solutions.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain architectural decisions to different audiences.
- A collaborative approach to working across technical teams and locations.
- Availability to meet the on-site working and UK and international travel requirements.
