About the Role
Join Alderwood Care Home in Colchester, Essex, as a Senior Care Assistant working nights. You'll help provide compassionate, person-centred care while supporting colleagues to create a safe and welcoming environment for residents. This contract role involves 48 hours per week, covering weekday and alternate weekend night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Support residents with personal care and their individual needs throughout the night, respecting their dignity and independence.
- Help coordinate night-time care and provide guidance to care colleagues.
- Monitor residents' wellbeing and report changes or concerns promptly to the appropriate colleague.
- Maintain accurate care records and contribute to clear handovers between shifts.
- Follow care plans, safeguarding procedures and health and safety standards.
- Offer reassurance and respond sensitively to residents who need support during the night.
What You'll Need
- Experience in a care setting and the confidence to take on senior responsibilities.
- A compassionate, patient approach to supporting residents.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to guide colleagues.
- An understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding and confidentiality.
- Good observation and record-keeping skills.
- Availability for night shifts across weekdays and alternate weekends.
