About the Role
Hanson Recruitment Ltd is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant with autism experience for a contract role in Bath, Somerset. You will support pupils with special educational needs, particularly autistic pupils, helping them access learning and participate in school life. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available during school hours, term-time only.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom support to pupils with SEN, particularly those with autism.
- Work alongside teaching staff to help deliver learning activities suited to individual needs.
- Support pupils in understanding instructions, following routines and engaging with lessons.
- Help create a calm, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Encourage pupils’ communication, confidence and independence.
- Follow school safeguarding procedures and share relevant observations with teaching staff.
What You'll Need
- Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs.
- Specific experience working with autistic pupils and an understanding of their individual support needs.
- A patient, adaptable and empathetic approach to supporting learning.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with school staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupils’ wellbeing.
What's on Offer
- Daily pay of £90–£100, depending on experience and qualifications; the advertised salary range is £23,400–£26,000.
