About the Role
Academics is seeking an articulate, engaging and passionate Secondary English Teacher for a September start in Chester, Cheshire. Contract opportunities include flexible daily supply, short-term and long-term assignments at supportive secondary schools across the area. You will help pupils develop their communication, analytical and creative skills through engaging English teaching.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging English lessons that support pupils’ progress in reading, writing and communication.
- Bring classic and contemporary literature to life, encouraging discussion and critical thinking.
- Adapt teaching to meet different learning needs and abilities.
- Assess pupils’ understanding and provide constructive feedback appropriate to the assignment.
- Maintain a positive classroom environment in line with each school’s behaviour policies.
- Work with school colleagues to support continuity of learning during supply and longer-term placements.
