About the Role
Witherslack Group is looking for a full-time Safeguarding Lead to work across Moorland Campus in Chorley and Wood Campus in Leyland, Lancashire. You will help safeguard children with complex needs, supporting a culture in which their safety and wellbeing come first. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference through attentive safeguarding practice and close collaboration with colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate safeguarding practice across both campuses.
- Respond to safeguarding concerns promptly and in line with relevant procedures.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records of concerns, actions and outcomes.
- Work with staff, families and relevant external agencies to support children’s safety and wellbeing.
- Provide guidance to colleagues on recognising, reporting and responding to safeguarding concerns.
- Support the review and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures.
What You'll Need
- Experience of safeguarding children, ideally within an education or comparable setting.
- A sound understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, child protection procedures and relevant guidance.
- A child-centred approach and sensitivity to the needs of children with complex needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Good judgement, attention to detail and confidence in managing safeguarding concerns.
- The ability to work across the Chorley and Leyland campuses.
