About the Role
Join RAC as a Roadside Vehicle Technician in Selby, North Yorkshire, helping to keep the UK moving. In this full-time role, you’ll use your vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills to support motorists at the roadside. You’ll start and finish on your driveway, working demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Carry out roadside repairs where safe and practical.
- Explain faults and next steps clearly to motorists.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and follow safe working practices.
What You'll Need
- A Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
- At least two years’ relevant vehicle maintenance or repair experience.
- Practical diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- A customer-focused approach and clear communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and adapt to demand-led shifts.
- A strong commitment to safety when working at the roadside.
