About the Role
Join RAC as a full-time Roadside Vehicle Technician, supporting motorists in Ongar and the surrounding area. You’ll be part of the Harlow cluster, covering locations including Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford, Sawbridgeworth, Waltham Abbey, Epping and Hoddesdon. This hands-on role combines vehicle fault-finding and repairs with customer support, with work organised locally so you can start and finish at home.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults safely and efficiently.
- Carry out diagnostic checks and roadside repairs where practical.
- Explain faults and next steps clearly to customers, offering reassurance throughout.
- Help arrange appropriate further assistance when a vehicle cannot be repaired at the roadside.
- Maintain accurate records of the work completed and follow safe working procedures.

- A stated base salary of £48,121.87, inclusive of night allowance. The listing also quotes £60,000 and average on-target earnings of £43,000–£53,000; please confirm the applicable salary and earnings package during the application process.
