About the Role
Join RAC as a Roadside Vehicle Mechanic in Farnham, Surrey, helping to keep motorists moving when their vehicles let them down. In this full-time role, you’ll use your technical knowledge to diagnose faults and carry out roadside repairs, providing reassurance and practical support to customers. The role combines hands-on vehicle maintenance with independent working and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults safely and efficiently.
- Use diagnostic skills to identify mechanical and electrical problems.
- Carry out appropriate roadside repairs to help customers continue their journeys.
- Explain faults and next steps clearly, supporting customers throughout the breakdown experience.
- Follow safe working procedures and maintain accurate records of work completed.
What You'll Need
- A Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance, or equivalent.
- At least two years’ relevant vehicle maintenance or repair experience.
- Strong fault-finding skills and a practical approach to vehicle repairs.
- The ability to work independently and make sound decisions at the roadside.
- Clear communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
