About the Role
Join RAC as a Roadside Vehicle Mechanic in Peverell, Plymouth, helping to keep the UK moving. In this full-time role, you’ll use your vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills to assist drivers at the roadside. You’ll start and finish on your driveway, working demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults.
- Carry out diagnostic checks to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
- Complete roadside repairs where safe and practical to help drivers continue their journeys.
- Explain faults and next steps clearly to customers.
- Follow safe working practices when inspecting and repairing vehicles at the roadside.
What You'll Need
- A Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
- At least two years’ relevant vehicle maintenance or repair experience.
- Practical fault-finding and vehicle repair skills.
- A customer-focused approach and clear communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and adapt to demand-led shifts.
