About the Role
Join RAC as a Roadside Vehicle Mechanic in Wetherby, West Yorkshire, and help keep the UK moving. In this full-time role, you’ll use your vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills to assist drivers and get them safely back on the road. You’ll start and finish on your driveway, working demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults.
- Use diagnostic and practical repair skills to resolve mechanical problems where possible.
- Carry out roadside repairs safely and efficiently.
- Explain faults and next steps clearly to drivers, offering reassurance throughout.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, repairs and assistance provided.
What You'll Need
- A Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance, or equivalent.
- At least two years’ relevant vehicle maintenance or repair experience.
- Strong fault-finding skills and a practical approach to vehicle repairs.
- Clear communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- The ability to work independently and maintain safe working practices.
- Flexibility to work demand-led shifts.
