About the Role
Join RAC as a Roadside Vehicle Mechanic in Selby, North Yorkshire, helping to keep the UK moving. In this full-time role, you’ll use your vehicle maintenance skills to support motorists when they need roadside assistance. You’ll start and finish on your driveway, working demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults.
- Carry out diagnostics and appropriate roadside repairs to help motorists get moving again.
- Explain faults and next steps clearly to customers.
- Work safely and professionally when inspecting and repairing vehicles at the roadside.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments and work carried out.
What You'll Need
- A Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
- At least two years’ relevant vehicle maintenance or repair experience.
- Practical fault-finding and vehicle repair skills.
- A customer-focused approach and clear communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and adapt to demand-led shifts.
