About the Role
Join RAC as a Roadside Rescue Mechanic in St. Neots, Cambridgeshire, helping to keep the UK moving. In this full-time role, you’ll use your vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills to support drivers at the roadside. You’ll start and finish on your driveway, working demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and carry out suitable roadside repairs.
- Help drivers understand the problem and explain the next steps clearly.
- Work safely and professionally when supporting customers at the roadside.
- Keep accurate records of assessments, repairs and assistance provided.
What You'll Need
- A Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
- At least two years’ relevant vehicle maintenance experience.
- Practical fault-finding and vehicle repair skills.
- A customer-focused approach and clear communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and adapt to demand-led shifts.
