About the Role
Join RAC as a full-time Roadside Mechanic in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, and help keep the UK moving. You'll use your vehicle maintenance skills to diagnose faults and support drivers at the roadside. This mobile role allows you to start and finish on your driveway, with demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults.
- Carry out diagnostics and suitable repairs to help drivers get back on the road.
- Explain faults and next steps clearly to customers.
- Work safely and professionally in roadside environments.
- Maintain accurate records of diagnostic findings and work completed.
What You'll Need
- A Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance, or equivalent.
- At least two years' relevant vehicle maintenance experience.
- Practical diagnostic and mechanical repair skills.
- A customer-focused approach and clear communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and adapt to demand-led shifts.
