About the Role
Join RAC as a Roadside Mechanic in Irvine, North Ayrshire, helping to keep motorists moving when their vehicles break down. In this full-time role, you will use your technical skills to diagnose faults, carry out roadside repairs and support customers. You will start and finish on your driveway, working demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults.
- Use diagnostic and practical mechanical skills to identify suitable repair options.
- Carry out roadside repairs where safe and practicable.
- Explain faults and next steps clearly to customers.
- Follow safe working practices when attending vehicles at the roadside.
What You'll Need
- A Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance, or equivalent.
- At least two years’ relevant vehicle maintenance or repair experience.
- Strong fault-finding and practical vehicle repair skills.
- A helpful, professional approach to supporting customers.
- The ability to work independently and adapt to demand-led shifts.
