About the Role
Osterna, part of Residential Management Group (RMG) and Places for People Group, is looking for an experienced Residential Fire Risk Assessor to join its team of health and safety professionals. This full-time role covers Bristol and the surrounding areas, with home-based working when you are not undertaking site visits. You will typically complete up to 10 site visits a week, Monday to Friday, with a focus on a positive work–life balance. Travel further afield may also be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out fire risk assessments at residential properties across Bristol and the surrounding areas.
- Identify fire hazards, assess risks and recommend appropriate actions.
- Prepare clear assessment reports and maintain accurate records of site visits and findings.
- Manage your schedule to complete site visits and associated home-based reporting work.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to relevant property management contacts.
- Work alongside the wider health and safety team to support residential fire safety.
What You'll Need
- Experience undertaking residential fire risk assessments.
- Sound knowledge of relevant fire safety legislation and guidance.
- The ability to identify risks and produce practical, clearly written recommendations.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently across a varied property portfolio.
- Clear communication skills and a professional approach to site visits.
- The ability to cover Bristol and the surrounding areas, with flexibility for possible national travel.
