About the Role
Witherslack Group is looking for a Registered Manager to lead a five-bed children’s home in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham. In this full-time role, you will help create a home where young people and staff feel secure, safe and motivated. You will support young people through the highs and lows of everyday life, recognising the small victories that make a meaningful difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day running of the children’s home, maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
- Support and motivate staff to deliver consistent, child-centred care.
- Ensure safeguarding and young people’s welfare remain central to decisions and practice.
- Oversee care planning to reflect each young person’s needs and support their development.
- Maintain appropriate records, monitor standards and ensure the home meets relevant regulatory requirements.
- Build constructive relationships with young people, families and professionals involved in their care.
What You'll Need
- Experience in residential childcare and the ability to lead a children’s home.
- A sound understanding of safeguarding and the regulatory requirements for children’s residential care.
- The skills to lead, support and motivate a staff team.
- A compassionate, resilient approach to supporting young people through challenging situations.
- Strong communication, organisation and care-planning skills.
- Relevant qualifications and suitability to fulfil Registered Manager responsibilities.
