Recruitment Consultant (Sales/Business Development) — AI & Automation Pury Hill, Northamptonshire £25k base + uncapped commission. Realistic first-year OTE: £50k Promotion on numbers, not time served You've competed at something. Sport, gaming, exams, a sales floor, whatever the arena was, you hate losing more than you love winning. And you've probably worked out that in most jobs, the extra hour you put in doesn't change what you get paid. Here it does. £25k base, £50k on target in year one, and no ceiling after that. Who we are Edge Tech recruits into AI, machine learning and intelligent automation, which is the fastest-moving hiring market in tech right now. Our clients run from VC-backed start-ups to names like Virgin Media O2, IWG and Latham & Watkins. 94% of our clients hire with us again, and 92% of the people we place are still there a year later, so you're selling something that actually works. We're a small team, high-performing team. Small enough that your numbers get noticed in week one. What the first year actually looks like Months 1–3: you learn the phone. High volume outreach, calls, email, LinkedIn, with structured external sales training and a founder sitting next to you telling you what you got wrong on that call. It's the hardest part and it's non-negotiable, because everything you earn later is built on it. Months 4–12: you start running your own client conversations. Booking meetings with CTOs and Heads of AI, mapping a market most recruiters don't understand, and working with our delivery team to turn briefs into placements and placements into commission. After that it's on you. We promote on performance, not tenure, and we'd rather promote from the inside than hire a manager in. You'll fit here if You hate finishing second, and it bothers you for longer than it should You'll stay an extra hour when a deal is live, because that hour is usually where the money is A "no" on the phone costs you about ten seconds, then you dial again You want a scoreboard, you want to know where you rank and how to overtake the person above you You're motivated by money and honest about it We hire from competitive backgrounds: sport, forces, hospitality, sales. No recruitment experience needed and no specific degree required. You will need a car or a realistic commute to our office in Pury Hill. What you get £50k on-target in year one , uncapped after that Fast-track to management based on performance, not how long you've been here Structured external sales and negotiation training from day one, plus daily coaching from founders who still bill Trips away every quarter, plus biannual and annual ones Early finish on Fridays , with drinks Health and wellness support The best rec-tech and kit on the market, so you're not losing deals because of bad tools Direct access to global clients, including some of the fastest-growing AI companies in the world Free onsite gym, café, tennis courts and sauna/cold plunge at our Pury Hill office, set in 150 acres of parkland with lakes and woodland walks, with padel courts currently being added The honest bit This job is demanding. The first six months are hard, and you'll hear a lot of no's. Most people aren't cut out for it. The ones who are tend to wonder why they ever considered anything else. How to apply Don't send a CV.
