About the Role
A.D.S Construction Personnel Ltd is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor on a contract basis for a construction consultancy in Watford, Hertfordshire. The consultancy operates across main contractor and subcontractor work, covering high-end residential, refurbishment, commercial, groundworks, infrastructure and electrical projects, alongside specialist balustrade, staircase, balcony and glass packages. The role offers hybrid working and a base at the consultancy’s newly acquired, modern offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project costs and support commercial control across allocated construction projects.
- Prepare cost estimates, valuations and financial reports.
- Assess variations and maintain accurate records of changes to project scope and costs.
- Support procurement and the commercial management of subcontractor and specialist packages.
- Liaise with project teams, clients and supply chain partners on commercial matters.
- Assist with interim payments and the preparation and agreement of final accounts.
What You'll Need
- Quantity surveying experience within construction, consultancy or specialist subcontracting.
- A sound understanding of cost management, valuations and construction contracts.
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail when preparing commercial documentation.
- Clear communication and negotiation skills.
- The ability to organise competing priorities across projects and work effectively with different stakeholders.
