I'm currently working with one of London's best Neighbourly Matters consultancies, who are looking to add to their Party Wall team due to a significant increase in workload.
More projects won, more instructions coming through and a growing pipeline of work means they are looking to bring in a Party Wall Surveyor at Surveyor, Senior Surveyor or Associate level.
And importantly, they are genuinely open on level.
Surveyor – up to £55k
Senior Surveyor – up to £70k
Associate Surveyor – up to £85k
On top of this, there is a strong bonus and wider package.
The role
You'll be working predominantly across central London, covering a mixture of commercial and residential Party Wall projects. The project pipeline is varied, interesting and constantly changing – no two projects are the same.
Depending on your level and experience, you'll have the opportunity to take control of the full Party Wall process, with genuine autonomy to manage your projects and clients in the way you feel is appropriate.
You won't be left to figure everything out alone, though.
Where there are areas of the process you have less experience in, there is an experienced team around you to provide support and guidance, ensuring work is delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
Who are they looking for?
You must have consultancy experience as a Party Wall Surveyor. Ideally within a Consultancy environment.
They are also very open to Building Surveyors who have developed solid Party Wall experience and are now looking to specialise and build their career within Neighbourly Matters.
Membership of RICS, the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors or Pyramus & Thisbe would be advantageous, but it is not essential.
If you aren't currently a member, full support will be provided to help you achieve the relevant professional accreditation.
Progression
This is one of the areas that really stands out.
There is no glass ceiling and no unnecessary red tape. Progression is based on your performance, the quality of your work and the contribution you make to the business.
For the right person, there is also the potential for equity in the longer term, should that be something you are interested in.
Working environment
The office is based in North London.
There is genuine flexibility and hybrid working, but this isn't a company that wants to sell itself on having to be in the office once a week.
They value team cohesion, collaboration and people actually working together.
You won't be expected in five days a week, but during your first few weeks and months, they would ideally like you to be around the office at least three days per week while you settle into the team and the role.
After that, there is flexibility around how you work and what makes business sense.
Why now?
Quite simply – workload.
The business has won more projects, instructions are increasing and there is a substantial amount of work coming through the door.
That is why they are open to bringing someone in anywhere from Surveyor through to Associate level.
Having personally placed candidates into this business previously, who are still with the firm today, I can confidently say it is a very good place to build a career.
If you're a Party Wall Surveyor looking for a move, or a Building Surveyor with strong Party Wall experience who wants to specialise, I'd be very happy to have a confidential conversation.

If this role isn't quite the right fit but you'd like to have an initial, informal conversation about your next move or even just how the market is, feel free to give me a call on 07511 759123. You can also connect with me on LI – Rory Thompson.
I'm currently working on a range of opportunities across the property and construction consultancy space, so even if this role isn't the one, there may be others that align more closely with what you're looking for.
