About the Role
Polaris Community is seeking a One-to-One Teaching Assistant to join Polaris Education’s Selwyn Hall School in Foxton, south-west of Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. The school provides specialist education for pupils aged 7–18 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). This is a full-time, term-time-only position on a one-year fixed-term contract, with an immediate start sought. You will provide individual support to help a pupil engage with learning and school life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support tailored to a pupil’s learning, social and emotional needs.
- Work alongside teaching staff to help the pupil access lessons and participate in classroom activities.
- Encourage positive relationships, confidence and increasing independence.
- Support agreed approaches to emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
- Share observations about engagement and progress with the teaching team.
- Follow school safeguarding procedures and contribute to a safe, supportive learning environment.
