About the Role
Academics is recruiting a Nurture Teaching Assistant for a contract role in Crewe, Cheshire. You will support young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) or emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), helping them engage with learning. This role would suit an experienced, compassionate Teaching Assistant who is committed to adapting support to pupils’ individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nurturing support to pupils with SEMH or EBD needs.
- Help adapt learning activities and approaches to meet individual needs, including additional learning needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage pupils to participate in learning.
- Support pupils in developing confidence, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
- Work alongside teaching staff to promote a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
What You'll Need
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting young people in an educational setting.
- Experience supporting children with SEMH or EBD needs.
- A patient, empathetic approach and a genuine commitment to helping young people.
- The ability to adapt learning methods and support to suit individual pupils.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a willingness to develop your practice.
