About the Role
Academics Doncaster is recruiting a dedicated Nursery Nurse or Early Years Teaching Assistant for a welcoming and nurturing primary school in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. Starting from September 2026 onwards, this role offers the opportunity to support young children in a consistent Early Years setting. Key Responsibilities
- Support children’s learning and development through age-appropriate Early Years activities.
- Work alongside teaching staff to maintain a nurturing, structured and inclusive environment.
- Encourage children’s communication, social skills and growing independence.
- Help prepare learning resources and support daily classroom routines.
- Observe children’s progress and share relevant feedback with the teaching team.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and promote children’s safety and wellbeing.
What You'll Need
- A CACHE Level 3 qualification in childcare or Early Years, or an equivalent qualification.
- An understanding of young children’s learning and developmental needs.
- A patient, caring approach and the ability to build positive relationships with children.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with school staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and supporting an inclusive learning environment.
- A reliable, organised approach suited to a structured Early Years setting.
