About the Role
Join RAC as a full-time Mobile Vehicle Technician in its SMR Division, delivering vehicle servicing and repairs in a mobile setting. Advertised in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, this role forms part of the Newbury cluster, covering areas including Newbury, Thatcham, Andover, Hungerford and Lambourn. You’ll combine practical technical skills with a customer-focused approach to help keep vehicles running safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs at customer locations across the cluster.
- Diagnose vehicle faults and identify appropriate repair solutions.
- Complete work safely and to a high standard, following relevant procedures.
- Explain findings and completed work clearly to customers.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, servicing and repairs.
- Organise your daily workload and keep tools and equipment ready for use.
What You'll Need
- Practical experience in vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair.
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical fault-finding skills.
- The ability to work independently in a mobile role.
- Clear communication skills and a professional approach to customer service.
- A commitment to safe working practices and attention to detail.
- The ability to travel across the coverage area and work the stated Saturday rota.
What's on Offer
- A base salary of £40,170, with on-target earnings of up to £52,000.
- A guaranteed overtime option to increase your base salary, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities.
- A full-time, 40-hour working week, with core hours of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and one in four Saturdays.
