About the Role
Join RAC as a full-time Mobile Vehicle Technician in its SMR Division, delivering vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs in a mobile setting. You’ll be part of the Stevenage cluster, covering Stevenage, Hitchin, Letchworth Garden City and surrounding areas. This hands-on role combines technical problem-solving with customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs at customer locations across your allocated area.
- Diagnose vehicle faults and identify appropriate repair solutions.
- Complete work safely and to a high professional standard.
- Explain findings and work carried out to customers clearly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Organise your workload and keep tools and equipment ready for mobile assignments.
What You'll Need
- Practical experience in vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair.
- Strong diagnostic skills and a methodical approach to technical problems.
- The ability to work independently in a mobile environment.
- Clear communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- A strong commitment to safe working practices and quality workmanship.
- A valid driving licence suitable for travelling between customer locations.
What's on Offer
- A base salary of £40,170, with on-target earnings of up to £52,000.
- A guaranteed overtime option to increase your base salary, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities.
- A full-time, 40-hour working week, with core hours of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and one in four Saturdays.
- A mobile role within RAC’s SMR Division, covering Stevenage and surrounding areas.
