About the Role
Join RAC as a full-time Mobile Mechanic in its SMR Division, delivering mobile vehicle servicing and repairs. This role is advertised in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, and forms part of the Harlow cluster, covering areas including Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford, Sawbridgeworth and Waltham Abbey. You’ll bring practical technical skills and a customer-focused approach to vehicle maintenance on the move.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mobile vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs across the assigned area.
- Assess vehicle faults and identify appropriate repair work.
- Complete work safely and to a high professional standard.
- Explain findings and work carried out clearly to customers.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
What You'll Need
- Practical experience in vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair.
- Strong fault-finding and mechanical problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently in a mobile role.
- A professional approach to customer service and communication.
- A commitment to safe working practices and quality workmanship.
- Availability to travel across the cluster and work the stated Saturday rota.

- A base salary of £40,170, with on-target earnings of up to £52,000.
