About the Role
Join RAC as a Mobile Mechanic in its Service, Maintenance and Repair (SMR) Division, working in Reading, Berkshire. This full-time role focuses on mobile vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs rather than roadside rescue. You will bring practical technical skills and a customer-focused approach to keeping vehicles running safely and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs in a mobile setting.
- Assess vehicle faults and identify appropriate repair work.
- Complete work safely and to a high standard, checking repairs before handing vehicles back.
- Explain findings and completed work clearly to customers.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Organise tools, equipment and daily tasks to support an efficient mobile service.
What You'll Need

- Availability to work the stated schedule, including one in four Saturdays.
What's on Offer
- A base salary of £40,170, with on-target earnings of up to £52,000.
- A guaranteed overtime option to increase your base salary, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities.
- A full-time, 40-hour working week, with core hours of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and one in four Saturdays.
- The opportunity to join RAC’s SMR Division in a mobile repair role distinct from roadside rescue.
