About the Role
Join RAC as a Mobile Mechanic in its SMR Division, delivering mobile vehicle servicing and repairs. This full-time opportunity is advertised in Walkern, Hertfordshire, and forms part of the Harlow cluster, covering areas including Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford, Sawbridgeworth and Waltham Abbey. You’ll work 40 hours per week, with core hours of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and one in four Saturdays.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs in a mobile setting.
- Assess vehicle faults and identify appropriate repair work.
- Travel between customer locations within the cluster’s coverage area.
- Explain work required and completed clearly to customers.
- Complete service and repair records accurately.
- Work safely and maintain high standards of workmanship.
What You'll Need
- Practical experience in vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair.
- Strong fault-finding skills and a methodical approach to solving mechanical problems.
- The ability to work independently and manage your workload across mobile appointments.
- Clear communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- A valid driving licence suitable for a mobile role.
- Availability to work the stated hours, including one in four Saturdays.
