About the Role
Join RAC as a Mobile Mechanic in its Service, Maintenance and Repair (SMR) Division, delivering vehicle care through a mobile service. Based around Harpenden, Hertfordshire, you will work as part of the Hemel Hempstead cluster. This full-time role combines practical vehicle maintenance and repair work with a customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs as part of a mobile operation.
- Assess vehicle faults and identify appropriate repair solutions.
- Complete work safely and to a professional standard.
- Explain work and findings clearly to customers.
- Maintain accurate records of servicing and repairs undertaken.
- Keep tools, equipment and the mobile working environment organised and ready for use.
What You'll Need

- Availability to work the advertised hours, including one in four Saturdays.
What's on Offer
- An advertised base salary of £45,370, inclusive of London Weighting Allowance where applicable.
- On-target earnings of up to £57,000.
- Overtime and bonus opportunities, including a guaranteed overtime option, with details to be confirmed during recruitment.
- A full-time, 40-hour working week, with core hours of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and one in four Saturdays.
- A mobile role within RAC's SMR Division, working as part of the Hemel Hempstead cluster.
