A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a skilled Shift Engineer to join an established and successful manufacturing business in Thatcham. Working as part of the engineering team, you'll play a key role in keeping a high-volume production site running safely, efficiently and reliably. You'll be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, repairs and engineering improvements across a wide range of modern production and packaging equipment. This is a hands-on role where your mechanical and electrical expertise will directly contribute to reducing downtime, improving equipment reliability and keeping production moving. The Role As a Shift Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across site machinery and equipment.
Responding to breakdowns and carrying out effective fault finding and repairs.
Diagnosing both mechanical and electrical faults.
Supporting the reliability and continuous improvement of production equipment.
Working across multiple production lines, B2B vessels and cooking vessels.
Ensuring maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Supporting engineering projects and equipment improvements.
Maintaining accurate engineering records and documentation.
Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise output.
Sector: Manufacturing What We're Looking For Essential: Experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer / Shift Engineer .
A recognised engineering qualification such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent .
Desirable: Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
Experience working with automated production lines.
Knowledge of continuous improvement and engineering improvement projects.
Experience using CMMS systems and completing engineering documentation.
