Our Leisure Assistants are trained lifeguards who hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification to ensure the safety of all our users.General ResponsibilitiesMaking sure the centre is kept safe, clean and tidy at all times for our members and pupils to use in compliance with health and safety regulationsDelivering high levels of customer care to our members and pupilsSupervising pupils and ensuring their safetyMaintaining cover of the swimming pool and providing a high level of customer service to all members and pupilsGreeting all visitors to poolside in an appropriate and friendly mannerDealing promptly with enquiries or problems around the building in a friendly, kind and helpful mannerCarrying out rescues and first aid when necessaryCompleting, signing and dating daily open and close procedures for the Leisure AssistantCompleting, signing and dating the cleaning and maintenance schedule daily for the Leisure AssistantDealing with any comments or complaints positively and efficiently, following correct proceduresPoolside ResponsibilitiesUndertaking general lifeguarding duties and ensuring the pool is never left unattended whilst in useBeing aware of general pool conditions and reporting any changes from the norm to a duty managerMonitoring the number of bathers in the pool and, when numbers exceed specified limits, advising additional lifeguards, the duty manager and receptionChecking safety equipment and reporting any defect to a duty managerHousekeepingAssisting in the preparation and operation of events and activities, including the assembly and dismantling of equipment in a timely and safe mannerEnsuring all cleaning duties are carried out as specified by the duty manager and in accordance with the centre's standardsPatrolling all areas of the centre to ensure all facilities are being used in the correct mannerMaintaining storage areas in a clean and tidy condition and in accordance with store plansThis role description is not an exhaustive list of what may be expected of you in the role.
