About the Role
Inspire People, in partnership with the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade (BIST), is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer for a permanent role in Darlington, County Durham. You will join a mission-driven digital team building reliable, secure and scalable services that support economic growth across the UK. As a Senior SRE Squad Lead, you will combine technical leadership with developing engineers and strengthening the resilience of digital services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a squad of engineers, supporting their technical growth and effective delivery.
- Guide Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps practices to improve service reliability, security and scalability.
- Support the development and operation of resilient cloud platforms.
- Use infrastructure as code and automation to make infrastructure management consistent and repeatable.
- Work with digital colleagues to identify reliability improvements and embed them in service delivery.
What You'll Need
- Experience leading and developing engineers in a technical team.
- Strong expertise in Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps practices.
- Experience working with cloud platforms and supporting reliable digital services.
- Infrastructure-as-code capability and a practical approach to automation.
