About the Role
DS SMITH PACKAGING LIMITED is seeking an experienced, proactive Intellectual Property Counsel – EMEA for a contract role based in Farringdon, Central London. You will take operational responsibility for managing the company’s intellectual property portfolio across the EMEA region. Acting as a key resource for the business, you will support the protection, prosecution and commercialisation of innovations and champion excellence in IP management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the company’s intellectual property portfolio across EMEA.
- Oversee IP protection and prosecution activities to safeguard the company’s innovations.
- Provide practical intellectual property advice to support business decisions.
- Support the commercialisation of intellectual property, balancing commercial opportunities with legal risks.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to promote effective IP management and awareness.
What You'll Need
- Relevant legal qualifications and experience advising on intellectual property matters.
- Experience managing an IP portfolio in an international or EMEA context.
- A strong understanding of IP protection, prosecution and commercialisation.
- The ability to communicate legal advice clearly and work collaboratively with business stakeholders.
- A proactive, commercially minded approach and strong organisational skills.
