About the Role
Truck Doctor Limited is seeking an HGV Technician / Mechanic to join its independent commercial garage in Whetstone, Leicester, LE8 6LH. The company has been servicing and repairing a wide range of large commercial vehicles for over 10 years. This permanent, full-time role is fully onsite, with no travel required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on HGVs and other large commercial vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and identify suitable repairs.
- Repair and replace worn or defective vehicle components.
- Inspect vehicles and check completed work for safety and quality.
- Maintain accurate records of servicing, repairs and inspections.
- Follow workshop health and safety procedures and keep the working area tidy.
What You'll Need
- Experience in HGV, LGV or commercial vehicle servicing and repair.
- Relevant technical training, qualifications or practical experience as a technician, mechanic or fitter.
- Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- A careful approach to workmanship and vehicle safety.
- The ability to work independently and alongside colleagues in a workshop environment.
- Availability to work fully onsite in Whetstone, Leicester.
What's on Offer
- Salary of £40,000–£50,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
- A permanent, full-time position.
- Monday to Friday working hours, 07:00–17:00.
- No weekend or bank holiday working.
- A fixed workshop location with no travel required.
