About the Role
Winner Recruitment is recruiting HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers for a contract role based in Coventry, West Midlands. You will work on double-manned Scotland runs, driving one way while your driving partner takes over for the return journey. The role offers Monday to Friday shifts, with approximately seven hours of driving per driver and 14.75 paid hours per shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out HGV Class 1 journeys between Coventry and Scotland as part of a two-driver team.
- Drive one leg of each run, handing over to your driving partner for the return journey.
- Complete vehicle safety checks and report any defects promptly.
- Follow drivers’ hours, tachograph and road safety requirements throughout each shift.
- Maintain accurate journey records and communicate clearly with your driving partner and transport team.
What You'll Need
- A valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
- A valid Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
- A sound understanding of drivers’ hours and commercial vehicle safety requirements.
- The ability to work reliably with another driver on long-distance runs.
- Availability for Monday to Friday shifts based out of Coventry.
What's on Offer
- An advertised salary range of £39,000–£43,284.
- Hourly pay of £20.81 including holiday pay, with a basic rate of £18.57 per hour before holiday pay.
