About the Role
Witherslack Group is seeking a full-time Group Safeguarding Lead based in Mitcham Junction, Mitcham, London. This role offers the opportunity to help protect children and young people, providing safeguarding leadership and supporting a consistent, child-centred approach across the group. You will help colleagues recognise concerns, respond appropriately and keep children's welfare at the heart of their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safeguarding guidance and support to colleagues across the group.
- Support effective responses to safeguarding concerns, including appropriate escalation and referral.
- Help review safeguarding policies and procedures in line with relevant legislation and guidance.
- Promote accurate, confidential record-keeping and appropriate information sharing.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and relevant external agencies to support children's safety and wellbeing.
- Support staff awareness and learning to strengthen safeguarding practice.
What You'll Need
- Experience of safeguarding children and young people, with the ability to guide and support others.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance and child protection procedures.
- Sound professional judgement when handling sensitive or complex concerns.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
- A careful approach to documentation, confidentiality and information sharing.
- A full employment history covering all paid and unpaid roles from the age of 16 onwards, including roles not directly relevant to this position.
