About the Role
Witherslack Group is seeking a full-time Group Safeguarding Lead covering Moorland Campus in Chorley and Wood Campus in Leyland, Lancashire. You will help ensure safeguarding remains central to the support provided to children with complex needs. This role calls for sound judgement, a child-centred approach and effective working relationships across both sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support safeguarding practice across the two campuses.
- Provide guidance to colleagues on recognising, reporting and responding to safeguarding concerns.
- Help ensure concerns are addressed appropriately in line with safeguarding procedures and statutory guidance.
- Maintain accurate, confidential safeguarding records and support appropriate information sharing.
- Work with colleagues, families and relevant agencies to promote children’s safety and welfare.
- Support safeguarding awareness and a culture in which children’s voices are heard.
What You'll Need
- Relevant experience in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within an education setting.
- A sensitive, child-centred approach to supporting children with complex needs.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- The ability to work effectively across both the Chorley and Leyland campuses.
- A complete employment history, covering all paid and unpaid roles from age 16 onwards, including positions unrelated to this vacancy.
