About the Role
Raven Search is recruiting an Estimator / Designer for a fast-growing technology and infrastructure business in Oldham, Greater Manchester. Joining the pre-construction and commercial function on a contract basis, you will support estimating, technical design and bid development for complex, multi-discipline projects. The work focuses on IT infrastructure, structured cabling, low-voltage electrical and wireless systems. This is a development role, working alongside senior colleagues rather than taking on a fully autonomous senior position.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of estimates for technology and infrastructure projects.
- Assist with technical designs covering IT infrastructure, structured cabling, low-voltage electrical and wireless systems.
- Review project requirements and technical documentation to help establish scope and costs.
- Contribute technical and commercial information to bids and tender submissions.
- Work with senior colleagues to refine estimates, design proposals and project assumptions.
What You'll Need
- A relevant technical grounding in IT infrastructure, structured cabling, low-voltage electrical or wireless systems.
- An understanding of estimating or technical design, with an interest in developing both skill sets.
- The ability to interpret technical information and work accurately with project details and costs.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with technical and commercial colleagues.
- A willingness to learn from senior colleagues and develop your contribution to complex projects.
