Construction TechnicianMake sure to read the full description below, and please apply immediately if you are confident you meet all the requirements.PermanentLocation: the North WestSalary: £24,000 per annumAbout the RoleAs a Construction Technician, you'll provide practical, hands-on support to the construction department, helping to maintain a safe, well-equipped and efficient workshop environment for learners and staff.You'll work closely with lecturers to prepare materials, tools and equipment for practical sessions, ensuring everything is ready, in good working order and compliant with health and safety standards. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in a well-run workshop and enjoys supporting others to learn.Key ResponsibilitiesPreparing workshops, tools, materials and equipment ahead of practical teaching sessions.Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs and safety checks on tools and equipment.Supporting lecturers and learners during practical sessions, including demonstrating safe working practices.Managing stock levels and ordering materials and consumables as needed.Maintaining accurate records of equipment, maintenance and health and safety checks.Ensuring workshops are kept clean, organised and compliant with health and safety regulations.What We're Looking ForEssential:Practical experience within a construction trade or disciplineGood working knowledge of tools, equipment and materials used in constructionA strong understanding of health and safety practices in a workshop environmentGood organisational skills and attention to detailAbility to work well as part of a team and support both staff and learnersDesirable (but not essential):Experience working in a college, training provider or similar educational settingA relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship backgroundExperience maintaining stock or equipment recordsIf you take pride in a well-run workshop and want to put your practical skills to use supporting the next generation of construction learners, we'd love to hear from you.Important NoticeDovetail and Slate is a specialist education recruitment company.
