About the Role
Muslim Aid is seeking a Community Fundraising & Volunteers Senior Officer for the Midlands and North, based in Birmingham, West Midlands, on a contract basis. The role will focus on engaging communities and supporting volunteers to raise funds for the organisation’s humanitarian and development work. Established in 1985, Muslim Aid is a UK faith-based international development organisation supporting communities affected by disasters, conflict or endemic poverty, regardless of social, religious or ethnic background.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop community fundraising activity across the Midlands and North.
- Build and maintain relationships with supporters, community groups and local organisations.
- Recruit, engage and support volunteers to contribute to fundraising activities.
- Help organise fundraising events and campaigns that connect local communities with Muslim Aid’s work.
- Monitor fundraising activity and volunteer engagement to inform future plans.
- Represent Muslim Aid professionally and promote an inclusive approach to community engagement.
What You'll Need
- Experience in community fundraising, volunteer coordination or a related community engagement role.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage people from diverse backgrounds.
- Clear communication skills and confidence in explaining charitable causes to supporters.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate activities and manage competing priorities.
- A supportive approach to working with volunteers and encouraging participation.
- Commitment to Muslim Aid’s humanitarian purpose and its support for communities without discrimination.
