About the Role
Driver Hire is looking for Class 1 HGV Drivers for temporary assignments supporting a growing client base across the IP postcode area. Based around Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, you will have support from an experienced local team. Immediate starts are available.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Class 1 HGVs safely and professionally on assigned routes.
- Complete collections and deliveries in line with each assignment’s requirements.
- Carry out vehicle safety checks and report defects promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and driving records.
- Follow drivers’ hours, tachograph and road safety regulations.
- Communicate clearly with customers and the Driver Hire team about progress or delays.
What You'll Need
- A valid Class 1, Category C+E driving licence.
- A valid Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
- A sound understanding of commercial driving regulations and vehicle safety.
- A reliable, professional approach and good communication skills.
- Flexibility to undertake temporary assignments across the IP postcode area.
What's on Offer
- PAYE hourly rates of £15.50–£18.50, or umbrella hourly rates of £18.60–£22.20.
- 28 days’ holiday, pro rata, for PAYE drivers.
- Opportunities to upskill to HIAB and/or ADR after a satisfactory probation period.

- Temporary assignments with immediate starts available.
