About the Role
Rapier Employment is recruiting Class 1 Drivers for contract work supporting a client based in Swindon, Wiltshire. Shifts run Friday to Monday, with start-time windows of 14:00–16:00, 16:00–18:00 and 18:00–20:00. Additional shifts may be available.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Class 1 vehicles safely and professionally on allocated routes.
- Complete vehicle checks and report defects or safety concerns promptly.
- Ensure loads are secure before setting off and follow safe working procedures.
- Maintain accurate driving records and comply with drivers’ hours and tachograph requirements.
- Communicate with the transport team about progress, delays and any delivery issues.
What You'll Need
- A Category C+E licence held for at least six months.
- Valid Driver CPC and a digital tachograph card.
- Availability to work Friday to Monday within the advertised start-time windows.
- A sound understanding of road safety, drivers’ hours and vehicle checks.
- A reliable, professional approach and clear communication skills.
What's on Offer
- Day rate of £20.45 per hour and night rate of £21.57 per hour.
- Overtime rate of £25.56 per hour.
- Weekend rates of £26.97–£29.57 per hour.
- An advertised annual salary range of £42,536–£61,505, with earnings dependent on hours and applicable rates.
- Contract work in Swindon, with the possibility of additional shifts.
