About the Role
CDL Personnel Ltd is recruiting experienced Class 1 (CE) HGV Drivers for ongoing general haulage work based in Grays, Thurrock, Essex. This contract role offers consistent Monday–Friday work, with both day and night shifts available. You will carry out general haulage and trunking duties using curtainsider trailers, with minimal live loading.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Class 1 (CE) HGVs safely and professionally on general haulage and trunking routes.
- Operate curtainsider trailers and check that loads are secure before travelling.
- Complete pre-journey vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and comply with drivers’ hours and tachograph requirements.
- Communicate clearly with the transport team about progress, delays and delivery requirements.
What You'll Need
- A valid Class 1 (CE) driving licence and relevant HGV driving experience.
- A valid Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
- A sound understanding of road safety, drivers’ hours and load security requirements.
- A reliable, professional approach to work and good timekeeping.
- Availability for Monday–Friday shifts and confidence working with curtainsider trailers.
