About the Role
Staff Co Direct is recruiting HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers for ongoing trunking work based in Derby, Derbyshire. Day and night opportunities are available within a well-organised seven-day operation, with consistent long-term bookings and immediate starts available. This is a straightforward trunking role using modern equipment and pre-loaded trailers, with no handball involved.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out HGV Class 1 trunking journeys safely and efficiently.
- Collect and deliver pre-loaded trailers in line with allocated schedules.
- Complete vehicle and trailer safety checks, reporting any defects promptly.
- Maintain accurate driving, delivery and tachograph records.
- Comply with drivers’ hours regulations, road traffic legislation and site safety procedures.
- Communicate with the transport team about journey progress and any delays.
What You'll Need
- A valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
- A valid Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
- A sound understanding of drivers’ hours and tachograph requirements.
- A safety-focused approach to driving and vehicle checks.
- Reliability, good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Availability for day or night shifts within a seven-day operation.
